Storage
We all want to be effortlessly organised. Take the sweat out of storage with our selection of the best cupboards, cabinets, shelves and boxes.

- Lamont kitchen larder Graham & Green
A few years ago no house was complete without an en suite or at least a second bathroom. Now that we have all grown accustomed to that the focus has shifted to the kitchen and, in the absence of space for a dedicated pantry - a larder cupboard. This free-standing version is perfect for those who aren't redoing their kitchen to have one built in but might have the space to install one. And it could also go on a landing or in a spare room for linen and laundry essentials as well. One of those pieces of furniture you would always find a use for. By the way - the difference between larder and pantry? Apparently it's from the French - pantry - pain - bread - dry goods. Larder - lard - wet goods meaning dairy produce etc. So this is technically a pantry cupboard rather than a larder cupboard.
- Black Arch Metal and Glass Cabinet Rose & Grey
An industrial-style metal cabinet with fashionable arched doors and fluted glass to the sides - which will do a good job of blurring the mess if you wanted to use it as office storage although it's clear at the front so you won't entirely escape the display element.
- USM storage USM
USM is a Swiss company that was created in the 60s to furnish a factory making ball bearings. The joy is that it is all adaptable and customisable so you can start with a small bedside table and extend and adapt it into an entire media unit. The colours are deliberately restricted so that you can be sure of an exact match with a piece you bought thirty years ago. Known more for their commercial spaces, USM are moving into residential with their adaptable, durable and classic designs. Pricey, but will genuinely last you a lifetime.
- Everett Extendable Bookcase La Redoute
Here’s a clever idea - expanding storage. And who doesn’t wish they had more of that? There is a taller version of this as well, but it’s perfect for home offices as well as children’s bedrooms, where the collection of books both school and leisure tends to grow with their years.
- Anderson Bedside Table MADE
If you want lots of storage by your bed this is a neat solution - a deep drawer, an open shelf and room on top with brass detailing.
- Haines Wardrobe MADE
At 80cm wide I’m going to hazard a guess that it won’t store all your clothes but it’s a nice piece of furniture with its on trend fluted doors and if you are one of those organised people who stores winter clothes during summer and vice versa this could work for you.
- west elm Penelope 5 Drawer Chest John Lewis
Mid-century in influence and curved which somehow feels good for a bedrooms, this is 66cm wide and has five drawers with a marble top. Yes it’s an expensive piece at £999 but it’s something you would have forever and pass on.
- Bardi 1-Drawer Bedside Table La Redoute
A drawer is often high on the list of bedside table requirements, and the curved edge of this piece elevates it above the often chunky cabinets that seem to dominate this section of the interiors market. The metal drawer runners give away that it’s not a more expensive piece, but they are hidden from view when closed.
- Buisseau Set of 2 Bedside Wall Shelves La Redoute
Back to cane – and if one shelf isn’t enough then why not have two? Book, light and glasses on the top. Tea, clock and charging apparel below.
- Where do you buy your art? ON THE BLOG...
I wanted to share a few things that have helped me work from home over the last 20 years with babies, toddlers and now teenagers. Sometimes I had a dedicated space and often I didn’t. It’s not just about decorating and layout but how you plan your time (and snacks). Here are 10 things that have helped me.
- Odie 2 Drawer Bedside Table MADE
Inspired by vintage sewing boxes, this sweet little round table is only 41cm in diameter so it should tuck into the smallest of spaces. Personally, I prefer the dark stain version but that doesn’t mean you have to.
